I do not like all of Missy Higgins' songs but I love love love that one, and, HEY, it was featured at the end of the NCIS ep I was talking about yesterday. And then last night, it was on So You Think You Can Dance US. *And* it was in a Grey's Anatomy ep last season. Go Missy! And it really is a beautiful song.

Also: new layout. I'm not sure about it, honestly. I think it's gorgeous but a) I don't like reading my friends page in it and b) the old one was ugly but it was heavily modified by ME and that gave it a kind of home-made quality which I liked, and which I think suited the IJ atmosphere, where things aren't always slick, where things being a bit clunky is part of the experience.
ETA: And hmmmm, the calendar in the sidebar doesn't appear to work. I will have to investigate that.
And: my god, service-type people, UPDATE YOUR MAPS! This place was subdivided like SIX YEARS AGO. Please stop coming on to my property to access something THAT CAN NO LONGER BE ACCESSED VIA MY PROPERTY. Grrrr.

Another article on clarifying the Someday/Maybe lists. I think it's very reasonable that (according to the author) "thoughts related to uncommitted projects will continue to hover at the edge of our attention and scatter our focus." But I never do a proper job with the someday list, as I'm too greedy and afraid to miss something important, it grows to the monstrous proportions and prompty becomes intimidating and unusable. I think that such work requires more conscious efforts, not just the free-association kind of throwing all your fantasies together. This first step is rather favoured by the motivation books, especially those which treat the readers like children (unleash your inner child!)
I do well with a small number of well-defined tasks, but for the time being, I lack the large picture. Will it kill me if I spend a few days/weeks on properly thinking it over??

So, last night I finally got to see new NCIS! Recoil, YAY. And it was freaking awesome, YAY. Oh my goodness, Ziva, you are wonderful. God she's fabulous. What a great ep.
Technically a SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER following here.
This is how long it's been since I saw the show and how thoroughly spoiled I am: Jenny came up in the credits and I swear I had a moment or two of going, "What? I thought she was dead?" NOT YET, LEDA, NOT YET. :sighs:
Also: wow, that icon's hot. Murder by Numbers is just about the slashiest film in the history of ever. Hey, maybe that's something else I could write for BBtP. Justin/Richard slash, mmmmm.
And I find it slightly disturbing to realise that Michael Pitt looks an awful lot like Lucas Grabeel aka Ryan from High School Musical. He's poutier, but otherwise, they're very similar. Creepy!
